Beth is originally from Avon, Indiana, and a graduate of Avon High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Kentucky Christian University in 1995. Beth began her teaching career in first grade at Faith Community School in Greenwood, Indiana, where she taught for five years. She then moved to Dublin, Ohio, and taught first grade at Tree of Life School. After marrying her husband, John, in 2002, they relocated to Pennsylvania and later to Iowa, where Beth worked as a substitute teacher. In 2005, the family settled in Orrville, Ohio. After spending several years as a stay-at-home mom, Beth began teaching at Oak Grove Preschool in 2016. She and John have three children: a son, Noah, and two daughters, Jacy and Abby.
