The Church Board consists of six members at-large, affirmed by the congregation, and a representative of each of the six commissions - preferably the chairpersons. The pastor(s), congregational secretary, and the church treasurer are ex-officio non-voting members. The Church Board is responsible for the leadership of the congregation and shall serve as a consulting and decision making body in matters of policy and program. The Board reports its activities to the congregation.
The Church Board duties include but are not limited to: recommendation of pastoral candidates, evaluation and renewal of pastoral leaders, preparation of budget, including setting wages and benefits for all church employees, initiation of an audit of church funds, administration of preschool, and acceptance of special gifts, bequests, memorials and endowments.
Church Board meetings, except for executive sessions, are open to congregational members. If members wish to place an issue on the adenda, they are to consult with the Congregational Chairperson prior to the board meeting.
